Nora Lakos

She’s either shooting films, covering them or at some stage of planning... Nora Lakos is no stranger to the silver screen.
Film Festivals
Nora Lakos finished her studies in film direction in Budapest at the Hungarian Film Academy in 2009. She has since produced short fiction and documentaries.
Her most recent films include Coming Soon (2006) and Hanna (2007), presented in competition section at the 38th and 39th Hungarian Film Week and Mediawave festivals. She won the special prize of the student jury for her short experimental film Coming Soon at the Faludy Academy Film Festival in 2007. Her recent short Lupa was shown in the competition at the Budapest International Short Film Festival (BUSHO) in 2008, and she was selected as a director participant of the Sarajevo Talent Campus in 2009.
Nora was also production manager for a television documentary titled 56ers produced for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, a production created on the 50th anniversary of the Hungarian uprising of 1956. She was also the director of the SZEMezz – International Short Film Festival, an open air multidisciplinary festival that took place in 2005 and 2006 in Budapest.
Nora works as a freelance video journalist for the Hungarian online magazine Kreatív, in addition to contributing to the creative team at ontheglobe.com. On her free time, Nora dances tango and travels.
