Janis Overlock is a media and fund-raising consultant based in Texarcana, Texas. Overlock brings with her the experience of having worked as the regional director of Roma projects for the Independent Journalism Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to promoting free and independent media in Eastern and Central Europe and Southeast Asia.

This important educational project gave basic journalism training to young Roma, and assisted these students towards integrating in the mainstream media. The program was so successful that it was emulated in the surrounding countries, and continues to this day. Janis has also worked as a journalism trainer in Slovakia, Romania, and Macedonia.

Janis Overlock was program head and professor of mass communications at Texas A&M University-Texarkana.

She has lived in Germany, France, Belgium, and Hungary.

Janis Overlock is assisting the team at ontheglobe.com in implementing her experience fund-raising from the public and private sectors, both in the US as well as abroad.
